Who is Bob Ong: Bob Ong is My Brother

I often heard the name Bob Ong on the internet and  the book he had piblished... Many said Bob Ong is a Chinese capitalist because of  his last name. Others say that these were group of writers who represent a man named Bob Ong.
I have no interest in his works or writings; until I tried to read on the internet his quotes:

Sometimes I wonder ... is this the teachings of Bob Ong? ... Is the substance of today's youth? Perhaps children prefer hearing impaired slang sermons rather than from their parents. Some prefer direct use as a frontispiece to remind them of their stupidity by these quotes ... if I reviewed this saying this is no different in with mu KUYA’s speech who have not read Bob Ong  nor those  researcher here in our community  (new tag names for  tsimosa) whom not even know Bob Ong.  I watched a dukus by (documentary) for Bob Ong, said no one knows who he Bob Ong , He is a publishing phenomenon whose best-seller book sales are equaled only by the secrecy he maintains”. Apparently, the author hides at the back  of the name Bob Ong and no one knows who is really is. His publisher protects his identity, although Ong says some of his fans have met him. This lends an air of anonymity and people become more intrigued and interested.
There is no need to search for Bob Ong, because we are all Bob Ong… its an awakening that we should realized the stupidity that we have done, to be wise. We must be study to the contents of his quotes ... why not even listen to the great lessons our parents that will surely guide our future. And for once Bob Ong ... let’s meet another time, how about a cup of coffee without cream but instead a condense milk pour over my coffee.

My First Food Review; Mang Inasal a Taste of Homemade Inasal

My First Food Review; Mang Inasal a Taste of Homemade Inasal

PUBLISHED BY KUYAERNZFUL ON JUN 5, 2011

This chicken fast food chain bear a distinctively Pinoy stamp-grilling with charcoal, rice wrapped in banana leaves, a marinade concocted out of local spices and herbs, bamboo sticks for skewers, and the ambience that encourages kinamot (the Ilonggo term in eating with the hands) whenever chicken inasal is served.
As an initial food blog that I have, I’d like to review on this chicken restaurant that is nearby Redemptorist Church in Baclaran. Just beside the Baclaran Church is the Mang Inasal  branch.
All these evoke a rush of nostalgia for tradition, culture, and most of all, Home.

Their chicken breast inasal is in a flavorful fashion that allows it to stand on its own. Its chicken is not violated with holes or cuts that can release juices that would otherwise keep the breast tender and juicy. The ambiance is a more homely style focusing on more wood products. The lighting is cozier that it relaxes its client and had the touch of being in your own grandma’s house. Its condiments were more at home as they say, In Mang Inasal, “Pinagsikapan naming laging mabilis, laging masarap, at laging abot-kaya” so that the Pinoy can truly say, “Kumbinsing!”

Doing good is doing good.

“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions”- Rainer Maria Rilke

I've always been thankful to GOD ever since but one day I asked to myself, what if I don't have job to sustain everything. How could I continue to live my life? I've worked as a Senior Help Desk in one of a good reputation company but as they say am careful of what you wish for; my fear of being jobless had come and was totally devastated. But GOD teaches me those things that I miss in my life. Because I was so busy at my work I forgot about the beauty of the persons around me and how they were important to me and how we are intertwined with each other.
From the simple morning task till the dusk that I have to prepare to lay myself to sleep GOD showed me and teaching me ways to be grateful. It's like am enrolled in a certain crash course, recently a friend of mine named Chel arrived in our house. He was a long lost friend; I've known him for years as well as his family. But he does have a bad reputation before for he was a member of a juvenile youth before. Everything changes as time goes by. He simply changes but some of the bad habits were still there, he came so confused and wanted to have shelter. He told me  that if he could spend days, weeks and months for he don't have anyone to turn to; he don't like to spend times with his relatives because he wanted to be independent. He caught me in bad timing for I was jobless. In spite of my situation I accommodate him just like the Good Samaritan. There GOD shows me great mercy and miracles. I don't have anything on my pocket to sustain the needs in our daily expenses; simply funds were coming in out of nothing. GOD had used other person to extend his blessings. This friend of mine is still skeptic; he did not believe that GOD can do that. Until such time that I earnestly prayed to the LORD that he might find a job.
One day when I woke up my friend was gone, without any farewell words he was gone. Then I received a text messages from my cellophane that its hard to live on my place, probably he was thinking of the times when I do have work and everything is in flourish. And he started to send me bad messages and saying that " by the way I do have a job by tomorrow I'll be starting my new job how about you" there is no anger nor hatred in my heart but instead a word of praise to GOD that he answered my prayer. I was so happy for GOD hears my prayer. It might be a sad thing to know that my friend Chel didn't believed in GOD but for my its another teaching that was being showed on me. Sometimes I asked the LORD, why people are like that and he leads me to this passage from Mother Theresa of Calcutta.

Doing Right

There should be less talk; a preaching point is not a meeting point. What do you do then? Take a broom and clean someone's house. That says enough.
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful you will win some false friends and true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.

In GOD's time - Lesson of being a father.

 A Time for Everything

  Ecclesiastes 3:1-15

There is an appointed time for everything.  And there is a time for every event under heaven ~
2 A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.
3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up.
4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
5 A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.
6 A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away.
7 A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak.
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace.
9 What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils?  10 I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves. 11 He has made everything appropriate in its time.  He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to do good in one's lifetime; 13 moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees good in all his labor, it is the gift of God.  14 I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him.  15 That which is has been already, and that which will be has already been, for God seeks what has passed by."

I always believed that there's time for everything. GOD knows how to keep and guide you. He is the harvester and the provider of everything. GOD wants us to grow in his love and share that love with others. As human it is proper to give thanks to the LORD from the sunrise up to the day we rest the day to sleep. We have to asked everything to the LORD for the strength, knowledge and wisdom.
 As in Matthew 18:1-4
"At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."

Just like a child we have to ask our father for everything. As I observe my son he always asked for everything... from milk, water, food and the things he do were being ask to the father. GOD is talking with us in the most simple way, being a father it is a joy to give to your son all that he wants; to nourish him and to guide him be be a perfect person . In the same way GOD wanted us to be open with him, confess, profess and ask as in Luke 11:9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." Just put all the trust to the LORD with all your heart and everything will be given to you  in accordance of his will as they say -In GOD's time.

E coli outbreak 2011

The fifth angel sounds his trumpet; This signals the "First woe":-  Book of Revelation

It is alarming indeed that a new stronger strain of E-coli is out in the European Region; causing multiple death and illnesses to mankind.
E coli is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium that is commonly found in the lower intestine of warm-blooded organisms (endotherms). Most E. coli strains are harmless, but some, stereotype O157:H7, can cause serious food poisoning in humans.
The infectious disease detectives worldwide was alarmed recently to find the cause of an outbreak of  new E coli strain  and has spread to 10 countries that caused at least 16 deaths and hundreds of illnesses.
Outbreak reaches Germany and Sweden; cases have been identified in Austria, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
 Beijing scientist from Genomic Institute said the outbreak of infection in Germany is caused by a new "super-toxic" E. coli strain, though the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the strain has been seen before.
Russia imposed the vegetable ban it is a protective measure taken in response to events that are happening in Europe today. While the United Arab Emirates imposed a temporary ban on cucumbers from Spain, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands these ban on fresh vegetables from the European Union comes three days after Russia blocked the import of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and salad greens from Germany and Spain.
For more information regarding the said outbreak refer to the World Health Organization site.

Apatot tree - a wonder tree

Sometimes I wonder if I was blessed with this tree that I do have in our backyard. The plant bears flowers and fruits all year round. The fruit is a multiple fruit that has a overpowering odor when ripening. It can grow as tall as our house. And it is called the “apatot tree”.
I have researched regarding this tree and its medicinal value of the apatot tree. At first the fruit is green, and then turns yellow then almost white as it ripens. It has many seeds; also called starvation fruit. Despite its strong smell and bitter taste, the fruit is nevertheless eaten as a famine food, in some Pacific islands, Southeast Asians and Australian Aborigines consume the fruit raw with salt or cook it with curry. The seeds are also edible when roasted.
Commonly known as great morinda, Indian mulberry and Noni, its scientific name of this wonder plant is Morinda citrifolia.
The green fruit, leaves, and roots were traditionally used in Polynesian cultures to treat menstrual cramps, bowel irregularities, diabetes, liver diseases, and urinary tract infections. Its pulp powder or juice is its high vitamin C content; its fruit juice provides only about half the vitamin C of a raw navel orange. The Sodium levels in apatot are high compared to an orange. Although the potassium content appears relatively high for apatot is 3% of the Recommended Dietary Allowance and so would not be considered excessive. Apatot fruit contains a number of phytochemicals, including lignans, oligo- and polysaccharides, flavonoids, iridoids, fatty acids, scopoletin, catechin, beta-sitosterol, damnacanthal, and alkaloids.
Recently, the US National Cancer Institute has undertaken further preliminary studies for potential preventive effects against breast cancer.

My Lola's Kare-Kare

After the hussel and bussle of the busy work in the Metro , I always find myself going home in my Grandma’s Residence in San Jose Del Monte Bulacan just to savor the taste of the mouth watering specialty of my grandma’s famous KARE-KARE .
Kare-kare is a traditional Filipino ox tail stew in a peanut-based sauce. Because the recipe varies from family to family and person to person, what follows is a version of how this dish is made in my family. I like my kare-kare with tripe and rich peanut sauce. The thing is kare-kare sauce is best eaten with lots rice and bagoong alamang. And it’s not very healthy for me to eat much rice in one meal. But theres a work around for the bagoong there had been vegie made bagoong made of mushrooms that can be purchased to some specialty stores.
Ingredients:
1 lb beef tripe2 lbs oxtail, cut 2 inch long
2 cups of peanut butter
1 1/3 sachet kare kare mix
1/2 cup cooked bagoong alamang (anchovies)
1 onion, diced
1 heads of garlic, diced
2 pieces eggplant, sliced 1 inch thick
1 bundle Pechay (Bok choy) cut into 2 pieces
1 bundle of sitaw (string beans) cut to 2″ long
8 cups of waterSalt to taste
How to cook:
In a stock pot, boil beef tripe and oxtail in water until cooked. Strain and keep the stock. In a big pan or wok, heat oil. Sauté garlic and onion until golden brown, then add the stock, oxtail, kare kare mix and peanut butter. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. Salt to taste. Add the eggplant, string beans and pechay. Cook the vegetables for a few minutes. Do not overcook the vegetables. Serve with bagoong on the side and hot plain rice.
But that would be most basic procedure how to cook the kare-kare what made it distinct was that you should have to add galapong ( Glutinous rice ) to thicken the sauce .
Well I just miss my Grandma’s Kare-Kare . It has been a tradition to pass on the Secrets of the family Specialty . It’s really a different taste and that certain distinctness in my lola’s recipe . I guess aside from the the orgasmic taste of the dish what I do miss most was me and my luncle going to the market of Tunkgong Mangga. It’s really nice reminisce the old times. And craving to cook the family dish again just as the way my lola used to cook it in her old clay pot.
